How it started.

Heidi grew up in North Pole, Alaska, and moved to San Antonio to pursue medical school. She told Muscle & Fitness that she began posting on YouTube and Instagram for fun while studying. Brand inquiries followed, and she eventually left school to focus on her business. Her fitness journey included CrossFit and NPC bikini competitions.

From Buffbunny to a brand.

Sharing her training helped Heidi build an audience under the Buffbunny name. In 2016, she founded Buffbunny Collection. In her Glossy interview, she explained that she wanted activewear that combined useful design, flattering fits and a wider size range. The brand became known for themed collections and fitting clothes on women across different sizes.

Building with her community.

Heidi introduced Grounds in 2023 as a fitness app designed around women’s different needs. Alongside workouts and food videos, she now shares the work behind her companies and moments from home. Her 2024 film BOUNDLESS, directed by Matt Komo, looks back at the personal and business experiences behind that journey.
