Mini bio
Before SFIA.
Isaac studied physics at Kent State University, graduating top of his class at 20. He pursued graduate studies and served in the U.S. Army, including in Iraq, before building a career in science communication.
How it started.
SFIA began in 2014. In his 100,000-subscriber special, Isaac recalled making explanatory videos for groups he belonged to before deciding to produce regular episodes. The channel reached that milestone in June 2017.
The questions that keep fans watching.
His episodes connect far-future possibilities with known science and plausible engineering. Megastructures, interstellar travel, artificial intelligence and the Fermi Paradox recur throughout the series. His own biography now reports more than 800 long-form episodes and over a million subscribers.

Isaac was elected president of the National Space Society in 2023. He also consults on science fiction and games and has given presentations at the U.S. Air Force Academy and MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
