Mini bio

A childhood spent watching people.

Jeanne grew up around the tables of her parents’ restaurant near Bastille. Her mother was an early style reference, and time spent in designer Nathalie Dumeix’s atelier helped train her eye. Photography became another way to observe the people around her. (Rouje founder profile.)

From personal photographs to a following.

As a teenager, Jeanne posted pictures of her friends, clothes and nights out online. That audience helped turn her personal taste into a career spanning modelling and creative work. In 2016, she launched Rouje. (Le Monde interview; Rouje history.)

Building a wardrobe, then a wider world.

Rouje’s Gabin dress arrived in 2017. Books followed: In Paris, co-written with Lauren Bastide, profiles 20 women, while La Vie en Rouje gathers photographs from the label’s world. Jeanne also played Paloma Picasso in the 2024 series Becoming Karl Lagerfeld. (Rouje history; Penguin; Abrams; Disney.)

Making space for women.

Jeanne became an ambassador for La Maison des femmes de Saint-Denis in December 2021. Rouje supports the organisation through projects including pieces made from leftover fabrics, with proceeds donated to its work. (Rouje for women.)
