How it started.
Jennifer’s work grew from a gap she knew personally: attending an all-girls Catholic school without the sex education she needed. She told Ms. Magazine she began sharing simple explanations on Instagram around 2018, then tried TikTok shortly before the pandemic after fellow doctors encouraged her to meet younger viewers there. Her videos went viral.
From short videos to the bookshelf.
Her first book, Let’s Talk About Down There, arrived in September 2021, turning questions about periods, hygiene, hormones, and contraception into an illustrated guide. The Birth Book followed in March 2026, concentrating on labor and delivery. Her Let’s Talk About Birth podcast brings other clinicians and advocates into that conversation.

Jennifer continues to practice as an OB hospitalist in Portland. She became a lactation consultant after having her first child, and her professional work includes serving as president of the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists in 2025–2026. Through Three for Freedom, she also helps people find information about mail-order reproductive healthcare.
