Mini bio
How it started.
Jesse began his BookTube journey in 2012 as he was getting back into reading. Making videos gave him a way to document that journey and keep himself reading. His first book review covered John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars.
Finding his style.
His channel grew to include reading wrap-ups, hauls, and games. Jesse has described Flip the Page as an idea he doubted anyone would watch, only to see it take off. The challenge turns random bookshelf coordinates and page numbers into an imagined new life.
Reading together.
Booksplosion grew out of the friendship Jesse, Christine Riccio, and Kat O’Keeffe formed after meeting at VidCon in 2013. Their book club gave them a reason to read together each month.
Beyond his channel.
Jesse contributed to the 2017 anthology Because You Love to Hate Me, which paired BookTubers with YA authors. In 2019, he joined the creator panel discussing Becoming with Michelle Obama in YouTube’s BookTube special.
Lately.
In June 2026, Jesse reintroduced himself to viewers and spoke about wanting to post more consistently. The summer brought reading updates, a book haul, and a new reading vlog.
