Mini bio

How it started.

Jess’s original blog, Jess Logic, mixed outfit finds, beauty experiments and everyday stories. Posts survive from 2016. In January 2017, after being shortlisted in a blogging competition, Jess announced the name Jess on the Plus Size, chosen with a friend to put a positive spin on plus-size blogging.

Finding an audience.

The aim was personal: to share clothes and makeup that helped Jess feel good, and help readers find that feeling too. By 2018, national coverage was drawing attention to the body-confidence messages alongside the outfit posts.

Making the clothes.

The work grew into clothing collaborations, including In The Style’s 2021 Summer Sunset collection, and a jewellery edit with The Seventh Edit. After Jess’s previous brand partnership ended in 2025, Jess and Adam Frisby recovered a planned swimwear collection and released it as Project Swim. Deserve grew out of that experience, putting the plus-size community into the design conversation.

Beauty as play.

In a first-person Bustle essay, Jess described moving from using makeup to hide insecurities towards enjoying it as a creative outlet. More recently, the work has included a Matcha edition of Mark Hill’s interchangeable Pick ’N’ Mix styling tools.
