Mini bio
How it started.
Jillian’s connection to fitness began with martial arts as a young teenager. In a Babbel interview, she described how training built her confidence as well as her strength. People at the gym began asking her to train them while she was preparing for her black belt, and her mother helped her get her first certification.
From the gym to television.
Before television, Jillian owned Sky Sport and Spa, a gym and sports medicine facility in Beverly Hills. An agent she trained suggested she audition for The Biggest Loser. She joined its first season in 2004, bringing her direct coaching style to a much wider audience.
Workouts beyond the screen.
Her home workout catalogue includes 30 Day Shred, built around three progressively harder workouts combining strength, cardio and abs. She founded Empowered Media in 2008 and expanded into books, including Master Your Metabolism and The 6 Keys. Today, The Fitness App brings her workout library together with personalized training, meal planning and meditation.
The conversation keeps growing.
Keeping It Real now covers culture and politics alongside health and wellness. In November 2025, Red Seat Ventures became its production home. Her 2026 screen work includes the Fox Nation documentaries Toxic and Toxic 2: A Generation on the Brink.
