How it started.

Johannes grew up in Hannover and was discovered at 17 while attending boarding school in Dublin. In a GQ España interview, he recalled being invited to a British GQ and Boss Models contest and signing with the agency afterward.

Finding a wider audience.

Modeling took Johannes around the world before he settled in New York. Campaigns for Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, and Dunhill helped build his career, while outfit photographs and street style brought his approach to menswear to an online audience.

Behind the camera, too.

His photography includes magazine covers and editorials for Vogue India, Elle Spain, Harper’s Bazaar Mexico, and Grazia Qatar. He has also photographed advertising for Piaget and Juvia.

Making the wardrobe his own.

For his Frescobol Carioca capsule, Johannes drew on clothes he actually wore while traveling. The 2020 collection brought relaxed tailoring into the brand’s resort wardrobe, with blazers, shirts, trousers, and swimwear designed to work together.
