Mini bio

How it started.

Julia started Gal Meets Glam in 2011 as a college junior studying business. Thomas, then her boyfriend and later her husband, photographed her outfits. She kept blogging alongside a full-time job after graduation, then made the blog her full-time work in 2013 as its revenue grew.

From outfits to design.

Her feminine personal style built an audience and led to campaigns with brands including Tory Burch and Nordstrom. Forbes named her among its Top Influencers in 2017. In 2018 she launched Gal Meets Glam Collection, bringing her dress-focused style into a clothing line sold online and at Nordstrom.

A wider creative world.

Julia also co-founded Parterre with her friend Hanna Seabrook, a print and graphic designer who creates its patterns. Her work now spans her namesake style site, collaborations in shoes, jewelry and outdoor living, and Trade Offs, the newsletter she and Thomas launched in 2025.

Her point of view.

Julia describes her style as polished maximalism. In her 2026 Who What Wear interview, she explained how color, print, texture and craftsmanship guide her wardrobe, with Charleston as home and New York a frequent work destination.
