Mini bio

How it started.

Julius grew up in London and studied sculpture in Brighton before finding work in restaurant kitchens. At Noble Rot, the quality of the ingredients and the people supplying them helped turn an interest in cooking into a desire to grow and raise food. In 2016, Julius left London for Suffolk and began learning to farm through experience.

Instagram Stories became a way to share both recipes and the practical work behind them, from growing vegetables to caring for goats and sheep. That mix of cooking and daily farm life grew into a wider public career: Channel 5’s A Taste of the Country followed a first summer on the Dorset smallholding in 2022.

From the screen to the table.

The Farm Table arrived in 2023 and became a Sunday Times bestseller, organising home cooking around the seasons. In March 2025, Julius started The Farm Diaries to give recipes and stories more room. By January 2026, the first chapter of a second book had been written and photographed, with publication planned for 2027.
