Mini bio
How it started.
Kaitlyn launched Modern Legacy in 2011 while studying law and international relations in Brisbane. They wanted a personal-style blog that reflected their own taste. After finishing their studies, they worked in online retail for local boutiques while keeping the blog going.
Finding an audience.
Modern Legacy grew after Kaitlyn committed to it full time, and a move to Sydney helped bring more opportunities. Their approach paired minimal, often monochrome clothes with unusual proportions or an unexpected detail. In 2016, they became a founding member of marie claire's fashion influencer network, The Style Set.
The wardrobe today.
Their agency describes a practice centred on clean silhouettes, careful layering and investment dressing. It also showcases collaborations with Camilla and Marc, Acne Studios and Harris Tapper. For fans, that means a continuing interest in how clothes fit together and how a considered wardrobe can keep working over time.
