How it started.
A friend suggested Instagram in 2014. Leah enjoyed her personal account, then discovered a plus-size fashion creator and saw a place for herself. She started VoluptuousLeah by sharing daily outfits, offering the kind of style inspiration she had missed growing up.
Finding her audience.
In 2017, she took her bikini outside during winter storm Stella. The snowy photo brought attention to her message of body acceptance, with coverage in Allure and other outlets.
Life beyond the outfits.
Leah moved from Vermont to Upstate New York in 2018. Alongside creating content, she works in digital media strategy. She says she styles, shoots and edits most of her own content. Her I Read, Actually book club grew out of conversations with followers about their current reads, with book kits, community voting and virtual discussions.
