Before Life By Lee, Lee Anne worked on shopping and lifestyle blogs. Their LinkedIn lists It’s A Want from September 2011 and Life In ATX from February 2014. In an Austin Woman feature, they described learning to build a website, attract readers through social media and earn money from the blog.

Finding a community.

Motherhood helped their audience grow. In a 2018 Austin Woman interview, Lee Anne credited sharing life after the birth of their first son with creating a closer connection to other moms. Parenting also became part of their published writing, including a 2016 Mom.com essay about the adjustment to life with a baby.
