Mini bio

How it started.

Liz’s path into leadership teaching ran through Oracle. She spent 17 years there and became vice president of Oracle University and global leader for human resource development. Watching bright leaders bring out very different responses in their teams gave her a question to investigate: why do some people make everyone around them more capable?

The book that introduced her ideas.

Published in 2010 with Greg McKeown, Multipliers gave readers a way to recognize leaders who draw out other people’s intelligence and those who suppress it. The book drew on the experiences of 150 leaders across countries and cultures and became a New York Times bestseller.

Following the questions.

She brought that research into education with Lois Allen and Elise Foster in The Multiplier Effect. Rookie Smarts explored why being new can help people learn and perform, while Impact Players examined how individuals make themselves useful and increase their contribution.

Where fans meet her now.

As CEO of The Wiseman Group, Liz continues to turn leadership research into books, talks and practical resources. She writes for Harvard Business Review and Fortune and is a frequent guest lecturer at BYU and Stanford. Her interviews often return to a familiar concern: how to help people think, contribute and grow.
