Mini bio

Growing up among cloth.

Luca grew up in the Neapolitan Rubinacci family, whose tailoring house was founded by his grandfather Gennaro in 1932. In his Visit Italy interview, he recalled visiting Pitti Uomo with his father at six, sorting ties by color and later playing with fabric scraps after school.

From sailing to Savile Row.

Before entering the family business, Luca sailed with the Italian team. He told Saphir that he left competitive sailing for tailoring, trained on Savile Row and worked for an Italian silk business before joining his father in Naples.

Becoming a familiar face.

His colorful clothes made him a regular subject for street-style photographers. By GQ’s 2014 interview, his looks were circulating widely online and drawing the attention of The Sartorialist. Sharing outfits and explaining clothes on social media became part of his public life.

Opening up the family wardrobe.

Luca told Visit Italy that Rubinacci launched its casual ready-to-wear line in 2015. His work now also reaches beyond tailoring through Manebí footwear and clothing, furniture with 11 Ravens and a personal watch project with Artisans de Genève.
