Fashion was all around him.

Luka grew up between Paris, New York and London with parents who worked in fashion. He began modeling at 15. In his Browns interview, he recalled being scouted by Noel from ReQuest while out with his father, and named a Vogue editorial and an adidas campaign as early breakthroughs.

Making his own work.

While still in high school, Luka started Hot Mess with photographer Noah Dillon. Their experiments with photographs, lighting and exhibitions gave him room to develop his own ideas. He has described Virgil Abloh as a mentor who encouraged him to turn ideas into things.

Clothes and characters.

Luka brought his interest in performance to Grown-ish as Luca Hall, then joined the ensemble of Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother. He also founded Marking Distance with James Pierce. The project spans ready-to-wear, couture, photography, art and other creative work.
