How it started.
Usaamah studied business marketing and spent time in the family business before moving into celebrity styling. Working with a stylist sparked the idea for The Dapper Label, a blog that grew into a made-to-measure menswear label. In a 2020 Exhibit interview, Usaamah said the blogging journey had begun six years earlier.
Finding an audience.
By 2016, The Asian Age was covering The Dapper Label and collaborations with Hackett, H&M, Calvin Klein and Dior perfumes. Recognition followed with Cosmopolitan India’s 2018 Editor’s Choice Cosmo Man Award.
From outfits to a label.
Alongside styling and online fashion content, Usaamah developed Perlo Studios. Inc42 profiled the clothing business in its feature on creator-founded brands, describing an early range of shirts and shorts.
