How it started.
Madhura began sharing recipes in 2009 after struggling to find Maharashtrian cooking videos online. In a 2018 interview, Madhura recalled starting with a basic digital camera and editing software, with help from husband Mangesh.
Finding a Marathi audience.
The first channel presented Marathi food in English. In 2016, Madhura launched a Marathi version, which reached one million subscribers within 18 months, according to the creator’s account. The aim was to bring the food of home to cooks around the world.
From the screen to the kitchen shelf.
Madhura expanded into books and spices in 2018. Fans had asked about the masalas used in the recipes, helping inspire Madhura’s Recipe Masala. The work now also includes Aaj Kay Banavu Ya? - Madhura Special on Sony Marathi, sharing regional dishes and traditional cooking techniques.
