Mini bio
How it started.
Malyri grew up in small-town Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Marine Corps before becoming known online as CheapChicFinds. In a Couple O’ Nukes interview, Malyri described joining after high school, working as a diesel mechanic, and deploying to Iraq in 2009. Their own website also notes a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and nutrition.
Finding a community.
CheapChicFinds began in 2017 with a focus on helping women find style on a budget. Looking back in a March 2026 post, Malyri recalled a time when fewer creators were sharing Walmart finds and their ideas were going viral. Today, the work includes Walmart and Target outfits, sizing advice, recipes, and DIY projects.
Making room for creativity.
Disney movie nights bring several of those interests together: themed food, homemade decorations, and time with friends. Malyri’s Tangled guide pairs braided breadsticks with paper lanterns, while the Home Alone version centers on comfort food. In 2026, Malyri also spoke openly about rebuilding creative confidence while balancing motherhood and the demands of Instagram.
