How it started.
Mariam grew up in Sierra Leone in a Lebanese household and moved to the United States as a teenager. She began cooking after getting married, exploring family recipes and dishes from other cuisines.
From home cooking to Instagram.
While living in Missouri, she missed the European desserts she enjoyed and began making cakes and tarts herself. Entrepreneur reported in June 2017 that she had built an Instagram audience of more than 2.6 million without a professional cooking background.

Cookin’ with Mima focuses on practical meals and desserts. Mariam says she tests recipes repeatedly and draws on Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Asian, Italian and American flavors.
