Mini bio
How it started.
Marilyn grew up in London and entered athletics at 11 after a primary school PE teacher recognised their talent. In a 2023 SheerLuxe interview, they described moving from jumping and sprinting into multi-event competition, with hurdles their strongest discipline.
Finding a personal style.
Marilyn told Who What Wear they began creating content in early 2019. Their outfit posts became a place to experiment with minimalism, streetwear and occasional colour. By 2021, SheerLuxe was inviting them to share their style rules, and Who What Wear later featured them in Best Wardrobes in Britain.
Making clothes work.
In the same Who What Wear interview, Marilyn explained that MNK began during lockdown because finding clothes for a tall, athletic body could be difficult. Its first loungewear offering was called The Everyday Collection, with comfort, quality and affordability at its centre.

More recently, Marilyn has brought their wardrobe to Marie Claire’s video series and contributed a summer shoe edit as a Marie Claire UK Master. Their sporting record includes a European U20 Championships bronze medal, documented by World Athletics.
