Mini bio
How it started.
Mark studied mechanical engineering at BYU and USC before spending nine years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Seven of those years were on the Curiosity rover team. He later worked on product design at Apple.
The first click.
An iPad-based Halloween costume helped launch his YouTube channel in 2011. The same interest in making an idea tangible runs through his later work: glitter-filled bait packages for porch pirates and obstacle courses for the squirrels stealing his birdseed.
Build along.
In 2022, Mark founded CrunchLabs, which makes engineering toy kits. His videos and kits invite fans to build, test and learn through play. Alongside MrBeast, he also helped start TeamTrees, TeamSeas and, in 2025, TeamWater.
