Mini bio
How it started.
Marques began uploading tech videos in 2009 as a high school student in New Jersey. In his own account, those early uploads were simple, one-take software screencasts made on a new computer. He kept making videos through college and graduated from Stevens in 2015.
Finding an audience.
A 2014 scratch test of a purported iPhone 6 display brought his work to a wider audience and drew coverage from TIME. Hands-on demonstrations became a familiar part of a channel built around helping people understand the technology they might buy.
Building a studio.
The work grew beyond the main channel. Retro Tech, produced by Vox Media Studios, put vintage gadgets in his hands. Waveform brought longer conversations, Auto Focus gave cars their own space, and The Studio took viewers behind the scenes. In a September 2025 interview, Marques described a team of about 17 people while keeping presenting, writing and reviewing as his own core jobs.
