How it started.

Maya began sharing beauty looks on Instagram in 2012 while at university. Questions from young Arab women encouraged a move into tutorials: in 2013, Maya launched a YouTube channel with makeup lessons, product reviews and celebrity-inspired looks in Arabic. In an Emirates Woman interview, Maya described that growing demand as the beginning of regular beauty-brand collaborations.

From tutorials to products.

MYNE began with zodiac necklaces in 2018, inspired by questions about Maya’s own Virgo necklace. Another milestone followed in February 2020, when a lipstick created with MAC launched. Maya later told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia that the collaboration fulfilled a long-held dream.

Life beyond beauty.

In 2025, Maya described a viral home-buying and renovation video as a turning point toward more lifestyle content. The same interview covered a MYNE relaunch and teaching cycling in Dubai. Maya trained at home during lockdown before auditioning as an instructor.
