From banking to baking.
Before Meghna’s Food Magic, Meghna worked in banking. Baking cakes, taking catering orders and teaching from home became the route into a different career. Formal culinary training helped turn that interest into professional work.
Finding an audience.
Meghna dates the first social post to September 2015. In a 2023 interview, Meghna singled out moong sprouts reels, South Indian recipes and Pehle Aap With Meghna as work that helped the audience grow. Videos with daughter Kangna also brought viewers into family life.
Keeping it practical.
The recipes focus on accessible ingredients and cooking people can try at home. Teaching remains part of the work, from lockdown classes to mentoring aspiring food creators through Fortune’s masterclass. Meghna has also spoken about exploring vegetarian food through travel.
