Mini bio
How it started.
Melissa launched a cleaning service in Toronto in 2006. She had left an unsatisfying job and wanted to run her own business, but first she had to learn to clean. After doing the work herself, she developed a training system and hired staff.
Finding her audience.
In 2011, she began making YouTube tutorials to promote the business. Teaching people how to clean became a career of its own, and Clean My Space grew past two million subscribers. Her approach starts with a relatable admission: she does not enjoy cleaning either.
Beyond the videos.
Her 2017 book, Clean My Space: The Secret to Cleaning Better, Faster, and Loving Your Home Every Day, brings her methods to the page. She also co-founded Maker’s Clean, a line of microfiber tools, and shares tips through The Dirty Dish newsletter and television appearances.
