Mini bio
How it started.
Merrick’s performance roots include professional Shakespeare productions as a child. He learned dance by watching YouTube, then trained with Cameron Greene at a YMCA in Encinitas. In his Inside Dance interview, he described acting and storytelling as the foundation for his movement.
The robot boy.
His robotic dance stories reached a wider audience on America’s Got Talent in 2017, where he advanced to the semifinals of season 12. Popping and expressive movement remain central to his work.
Making his own stage.
Merrick told Michael Jamin that he began focusing on his own social videos when acting and dance work slowed during the 2020 lockdown. He started with a phone propped on his bed. By their November 2023 interview, he was working in a studio with help from his dad and two other people, combining planned sketches, dance trends and visual effects.
Beyond the feed.
His screen credits include Edward in Attaway General and Scotty Shoemaker in The Really Loud House. In 2025, he also joined Tiny Chef in a Food Allergy Fund awareness campaign on Nickelodeon.
