Learning to cook.
Born in Ukraine, Natasha moved to the United States as a refugee at four. After marrying Vadim in 2003, she learned to cook with library cookbooks and family recipes. They started Natasha’s Kitchen in 2009.
A salad opens the door.
A TV anchor shared her cucumber, tomato and avocado salad on Facebook in 2015, sending it viral. Natasha told the Associated Press that it gave the site its first lift. Simple ingredients and meals people can make at home remained the focus.
From the screen to the bookshelf.
Clarkson Potter published Natasha’s Kitchen on October 3, 2023. Its more than 100 recipes include weeknight dinners and Ukrainian dishes passed down from her mother. Natasha reports that the book spent three consecutive weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
A family kitchen.
Natasha develops recipes, takes the photos and appears in the videos. Vadim films and edits. Their children help taste-test, and the family lives in Idaho.
