Mini bio

How it started.

Music filled Natasha’s home growing up, and her mother encouraged her to sing and perform. She told The News that she began making music at 14 and had been actively releasing music and working in the industry since 2016. Her early work included Biryani Brothers, and her solo EP Munaasib arrived in 2018.

Finding her audience.

“Baby Baby” on Velo Sound Station brought her to a wider audience in 2020. She followed it with songs including “Choro” and the Hasan Raheem and Talal Qureshi collaboration “Faltu Pyar.” Her debut album RONAQ arrived in 2023, co-produced with Talal Qureshi and Abdullah Siddiqui.

Old records, new songs.

Natasha calls her blend of retro subcontinental sounds and electronic pop “lolly-pop.” In a 2023 interview with Dawn Images, she connected those melodies to her research into Pakistani music of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. She also said she recorded most of RONAQ in her own room.

Building spaces for music.

Alongside performing, she co-founded Lahore Music Meet and leads Peshkash, an archive of 20th-century Pakistani music. She has managed Strings and Coke Studio Season 10. Her Peshkash mix for NTS turns the spotlight toward film composers and sounds preserved on records, cassettes and VHS.
