Mini bio

How it started.

Nick’s first ventures included selling candy at Boy Scout camp and painting houses while attending the University of Washington. After graduation, he developed a shoe comparison shopping site on nights and weekends. Commissions from online retailers helped turn it into a business, and after three years he left his corporate job.

Finding his subject.

He launched Side Hustle Nation and The Side Hustle Show in 2013 to share a path into entrepreneurship that people could try alongside their jobs. The podcast became the center of that work, with interviews that unpack how people find customers and build extra income streams. His official site now reports more than 35 million podcast downloads.

Stories in print.

His books include Buy Buttons, published in 2016, The Side Hustle, published in 2019, and $1K 100 Ways, published in 2021.
