Mini bio
How it started.
At 14, Nikkie watched The Hills and searched YouTube for Lauren Conrad’s eyeliner. A tutorial by Sandy Gold drew her into makeup. After practicing for a few months, she borrowed her mother’s camera, balanced it on a box and filmed a green smoky eye tutorial in 2008.
The power of makeup.
Her 2015 video The Power of MAKEUP! pushed back against makeup shaming by showing a transformation on half her face. Fans began sharing their own half-face looks. That idea also became a setting for celebrity conversations, including sessions with Kim Kardashian West in 2017 and Adele in 2021.
Sharing her story.
In January 2020, Nikkie shared that she is a transgender woman in I’m Coming Out. She explained that blackmail had pushed her to speak sooner than she intended. The video let her tell fans her story herself.
Beyond the tutorial.
Nikkie co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 and launched Nimya that September. Her brand focuses on skin prep, skincare and makeup. In September 2026, she was named the next host of the BBC’s Glow Up, with her first series expected in 2027.
