How it started.
Before Cook with Parul, Parul taught in a school and worked in companies and banks. After becoming a parent, she left her job to look after her son. Encouraged by her husband, she started her cooking channel in 2017, bringing a family love of food into videos made for home cooks.
Finding an audience.
The lockdown years became a turning point. In her own account, Parul says the channel gained a million subscribers within a month. Her approach centers on accessible ingredients and clear instructions, with Indian curries, breads, snacks and sweets at its heart.
Beyond her own kitchen.
Her work includes recipe collaborations with Chef Ajay Chopra, Your Food Lab and Kanak’s Kitchen. She was selected for Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars in 2022, won food-creator awards in 2023 and 2024, and shared her journey in a TEDxIIMCalcutta talk published in 2025.
