Mini bio

How it started.

Ramit started I Will Teach You to Be Rich in 2004 while studying at Stanford. He says losing half of his first scholarship check in the stock market pushed him to understand money. Psychology became central to his approach: the beliefs behind a purchase matter as much as the numbers.

From blog to bookshelf.

His 2009 book, I Will Teach You to Be Rich, became a New York Times bestseller. The revised 2019 edition expanded its six-week program, covering banking, debt, investing, automation, and spending on what matters to you.

Letting fans into the conversation.

In 2021, he launched a podcast built around candid conversations with real couples about money. Netflix’s How to Get Rich followed in 2023, taking that work across the US. Money for Couples brought the relationship focus into a book in December 2024, and Financial Wellness followed on MasterClass in November 2025.
