Mini bio

How it started.

Ravneet completed a psychology degree before training at Le Cordon Bleu. She built her pastry career in London kitchens including St. JOHN, Llewelyn’s, Jamavar, Black Axe Mangal and Wild by Tart.

Making kitchens better.

In May 2018 she founded Countertalk to connect chefs, share education and encourage healthier workplaces in hospitality. Her own experiences of good and difficult kitchens helped shape the project.

From the pastry section to the tent.

Her first book, The Pastry Chef’s Guide, arrived in 2020. She joined the on-screen judging team for Junior Bake Off’s 2021 series alongside Liam Charles, with Harry Hill hosting. Sugar, I Love You followed in 2021, then Baking for Pleasure in 2023.

A place of their own.

In June 2025 Ravneet and Mattie Taiano opened Gina in Chingford. The couple met while working at Llewelyn’s in 2018. Named for Mattie’s late mother, their neighbourhood restaurant became the subject of Ravneet Gill’s Chop House and received a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026.
