Mini bio
Before the camera.
Rena trained at NYU School of Medicine, completed her urology residency at the University of Chicago and pursued a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at UT Southwestern. Her work spans sexual medicine, bladder health and pelvic surgery.
How it started.
She began using social media during her fellowship, tweeting from a urology meeting and joining a communications committee. She later turned to YouTube to help people understand their health at home. In interviews, she has described health literacy as the purpose behind her content.
Finding her audience.
Her explainer about scientifically proven ways to increase penile length became a viral introduction to her work. Across her videos, she answers questions about erections, desire, hormones and pelvic health that people can find difficult to ask aloud.
More ways to learn.
She expanded into the Rena Malik, MD Podcast in 2023, combining expert interviews with solo explanations and audience questions. In November 2026, Hay House published her book The Hard Truth, covering men’s sexual health and its connections with everyday well-being.
