Mini bio
How it started.
Richa worked as a software developer before brain surgery in 2006 left her with balance and vertigo issues that kept her from returning to work. Cooking and baking became creative outlets, and she began blogging in 2009.
Finding Vegan Richa.
Connections with dog rescue groups helped her learn about veganism. She gradually changed her diet and began sharing vegan versions of familiar dishes, drawing on her Indian upbringing.
From blog to bookshelf.
Readers kept asking for a print book. After developing recipes and talking with publishers, she made Vegan Richa’s Indian Kitchen, released in 2015. Everyday Kitchen followed in 2017, and her Instant Pot cookbook arrived in 2022.
Cooking for more kitchens.
Her cookbooks cover Indian dishes and meals from other cuisines, with substitutions for different dietary needs. Everyday Kitchen builds meals around sauces, while the Instant Pot book explores techniques including layered pot-in-pot cooking.
