How it started.
Born in Nagasaki in 1989, Riisa began their entertainment career in 2004 and worked as a teen magazine model. They later recalled moving to Tokyo simply wanting to visit Shibuya. In 2006, they made their film acting debut in Island Times and voiced Makoto Konno in Mamoru Hosoda’s The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time became an early calling card. Riisa also starred in the 2010 live-action Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. That film and Zebraman 2 earned them a Newcomer of the Year award at the 34th Japan Academy Film Prize. Later roles include Mira in Alice in Borderland and actor Yui Kurosawa in Let’s Get Divorced.
