How it started.
Rosanna began creating on YouTube in 2010. In an interview with Parade, she said she wanted to feel more comfortable on camera and have a creative outlet. In 2011, she filmed a Mario Star cake for a get-together with friends. That became the first Nerdy Nummies episode.
Finding her recipe.
Games, movies, comics and baking came together in Nerdy Nummies. Google’s case study describes how she experimented with several video formats before making the baking series her channel’s centerpiece. Fans could come for a familiar character and stay to learn how to make it in cake or cookie form.
Beyond the channel.
Her first cookbook, The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook, arrived in 2015 and became a New York Times bestseller. Baking All Year Round followed in 2018. She went on to host and executive produce HBO Max’s baking competition Baketopia in 2021, then launched Rodiculous in 2024 for conversations beyond the kitchen.
A creator milestone.
In June 2025, VidCon inducted Rosanna into its inaugural Hall of Fame during her fifteenth year as a YouTube creator.
