How it started.
Sikandar Ka Mandar emerged from Karachi’s independent music scene, with Nadir Shahzad Khan on vocals and Ali Suhail a central musical collaborator. Their official channel dates their involvement in the scene to 2010. Their songs bring social questions into indie folk-rock, and their early work grew alongside the Lussun TV community.
The first records.
Their self-titled debut appeared in 2013, with Jo Bhi helping introduce listeners to the band. Samya Arif designed its cover. Their second studio album, 36 (Chhatees), followed on December 25, 2017 and received a 2018 Lux Style Awards nomination for Album of the Year.
Music with a purpose.
For Chand Si Banu, SKM worked with Jajji Jee and the community-led organisation Track-T. Their official video credits Nadir Shahzad and Mohammad Ali Suhail for lyrics, and Zahra Paracha and Suhail for mixing and mastering. The band pledged the song’s profits and streaming royalties to Track-T.

The News described Sikandar Ka Mandar as disbanded in January 2026 and identified Nadir’s new band as Dulhay Mian. The dated releases and performances collected here look back at SKM’s documented work; no new band release or performance from the last two years was verified.
