Mini bio

Cooking away from home.

At 14, Tina moved to Connecticut for boarding school and missed Korean food. She called her grandmother for recipes and learned to cook with what she could find nearby. Her dorm kitchen became a place to feed friends as well as herself.

A portfolio became a career.

After studying food science at Cornell, Tina struggled to find work during the pandemic. She began posting cooking videos as a portfolio in 2021, starting on TikTok. On YouTube, a short about fried egg over rice helped her break through. Cooking footage paired with personal voiceovers became a way to tell her story.

From the kitchen to the road.

In 2023, Tina and chef Kevin Kroløkke opened Mija Seoul, a restaurant she funded through her YouTube earnings. The restaurant later closed. Her channel has continued through cooking guides, family meals and food trips, including 2026 journeys through Korea, China and Malaysia.
