Mini bio
How it started.
Tina first planned to teach high school English. She pursued social work to help children and families, worked as a victim advocate and therapist, and later studied for a Ph.D. Hearing Dan Siegel speak drew her toward interpersonal neurobiology and the science of the brain.
Books that reached families.
Her collaboration with Siegel produced The Whole-Brain Child in 2011 and No-Drama Discipline in 2014, both New York Times bestsellers. Their later books include The Yes Brain and The Power of Showing Up. She also wrote The Bottom Line for Baby.
Connection in practice.
Alongside writing and teaching, she founded The Center for Connection, a multidisciplinary clinical practice. In 2025, she and Georgie Wisen-Vincent published The Way of Play, bringing their work with children into a guide to everyday parent-child play.
