Tony Robbins

How it started.

Tony grew up with little money and periods when food was scarce. In his official story, he recalls a stranger bringing his family groceries at Thanksgiving. He says that gesture helped shape his belief that strangers care and his desire to give back.

Finding his work.

At 17, he attended a seminar by Jim Rohn, then began selling Rohn’s seminars. Tony credits that early mentor with teaching him to work on himself and keep learning. He went on to build his own career in coaching and personal development.

Reaching a wider audience.

An early client was swimmer Mike O’Brien, who won gold at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Books including Unlimited Power in 1986 and Awaken the Giant Within in 1991 became lasting parts of Tony’s public work, alongside his audio programs and seminars.
