How it started.
An awkward version of “the talk” with her parents left Vanessa wondering why sex was so hard to discuss. She became a psychotherapist specializing in sex therapy, then built online courses and guides to share her tools beyond individual sessions.
Becoming Vanessa and Xander.
Xander first helped behind the scenes of her online business. Around the beginning of 2021, they began creating content together on camera, pairing her professional perspective with his experience as a partner. Their honest stories about their own relationship became part of the work.
From conversations to a book.
Sex Talks arrived in February 2023 and became an instant New York Times bestseller. Written with Xander, it guides couples through five conversations about acknowledgement, connection, desire, pleasure, and exploration. Their weekly Pillow Talks podcast carries those conversations into listener questions and everyday relationship challenges.
