Mini bio

How it started.

Zahra came to fashion through computer science and graphic design. In a 2014 interview, she explained that she started her blog in 2009 to find a way into the industry. What began with fashion news became a personal account of her experiences in Dubai and London.

Learning the industry.

In London, Zahra studied media production at London College of Fashion and fashion communication at Central Saint Martins. She gained experience at Harper’s Bazaar UK and assisted the beauty editor at The Sunday Times Style. Winning a Grazia Style Award in 2014 helped open doors to collaborations and projects.

From editor to founder.

Zahra later worked as an editor at Vogue Arabia and helped launch the magazine in the Middle East. In late 2019, she founded The Other Agency, bringing her experience in design and fashion to digital storytelling for brands.

Making room for conversation.

In 2021, Zahra and Haneen Odeh launched Candid with Haneen & Zahra. The podcast explores the lives of people working across the Middle East, with conversations about careers, mental health and personal growth.
