Mini bio
How it started.
Selman moved from Texas to New York at 18 to attend Pratt. After graduating, he worked as a freelance pattern maker for The Row and Zaldy. His work with Zaldy introduced him to stage costumes, and he later toured with Scissor Sisters as part of their wardrobe team.
The Rihanna connection.
Working with stylist Mel Ottenberg led him to Rihanna’s tour wardrobe. He also helped coordinate her River Island collection before launching his own label in 2013. The sheer crystal dress he designed for Rihanna’s 2014 CFDA Awards appearance became a defining piece of his career.
From runway to workout.
In 2019 he introduced Adam Selman Sport, bringing leopard print, crystals and playful cuts to performance clothing. The idea grew out of returning to exercise and spotting room for a different kind of gym wardrobe. His creative partnerships also include eyewear with Le Specs.
A new chapter.
After serving as chief design officer at Savage X Fenty, he joined Victoria’s Secret in April 2025 as executive creative director. By April 2026, the company identified him as executive vice president and chief creative officer. His work there spans campaigns, runway shows and film.
