Mini bio

How it started.

Kozue loved clothes long before modeling became a job. In a Tokyo Weekender interview, Kozue recalled visiting Harajuku with pocket money as a child. Salon work led to photo shoots, then an agency approached them. Their professional modeling debut came in 2009.

Finding a place in fashion.

An appearance in a 2011 Hermès advertisement became an early milestone. Curious about fashion beyond Japan, Kozue began visiting Paris Fashion Week and attracted street-style photographers. In 2015, Olympia Le-Tan invited Kozue onto the Paris runway. Kozue also appeared on a Vogue Japan cover that year.

Making things with friends.

The 2018 photo book kozue 2017-2018 brought together photographs, art and writing by friends to document life around Kozue’s 30th birthday. More recent collaborations include Tom Wood’s Chiyu rings and Tabio socks, with Kozue helping shape both products and imagery.
