Mini bio

A different route.

Alex grew up in Alberta and planned to go to law school. In 2008, she sold her car and moved to Kuala Lumpur for an internship at Mindvalley. She went on to become its Creative Director and direct its A-Fest event before leaving in 2011 to build a freelance business.

From behind the scenes to YouTube.

After years of writing for clients, Alex started her YouTube channel in 2019. She wanted to teach copywriting that combined conversion principles with brand storytelling, without the manipulative sales tactics she saw around her.

Listening to her first fans.

When viewers asked for hands-on help starting a freelance business, Alex created Copy Posse Launch Pad. She told CanvasRebel that the January 2020 launch attracted 42 students and brought in $84,000. That first program became the starting point for her wider education business.

A community built around words.

Today, Copy Posse teaches copywriting, email marketing and brand messaging through courses and coaching. Alex also leads REIGN, a mastermind for experienced marketers and business owners. Empathy and a recognizable human voice run through her work.
