Mini bio
How it started.
Alexa grew up in San Diego watching Food Network and the women in her family cook. She started Fueled Naturally in 2014, soon after adopting a vegan diet, and used the blog to explore ingredients and share what she was learning in her kitchen.
Food and family.
Her work brings Mexican cooking traditions into everyday home meals. On Fueled Naturally, she shares plant-based versions of familiar dishes alongside cooking classes and reflections on mental health. Her debut cookbook, Plantas, arrived in August 2024 with her own food photography and recipes spanning salsas, tacos, mains, desserts and drinks.
A new chapter.
In June 2026, Alexa wrote that she no longer follows a vegan diet. She described a more flexible approach to food and said her recipes would remain mostly plant-based. Her recent posts also include meals she and her husband make for friends after childbirth.
