Mini bio

How it started.

Alfie began a food blog in 2019. As a student in Edinburgh, they photographed meals built around leftovers and supermarket reductions. That habit of making something good from what is already in the kitchen still runs through the recipes.

Finding an audience.

A beetroot hummus recipe helped kickstart the creator career. In a Leisure Kicks interview, Alfie explained that the beetroot needed using up, despite not being a favourite ingredient. Later, Soup Season became a signature format, bringing comforting bowls and accessible vegetables to a much wider audience.

Cooking with plants.

Alfie told Leisure Kicks that concern for animals prompted the move away from meat, and that plant-based cooking encouraged more creativity. Recipes often build around beans, chickpeas, tofu and seasonal vegetables, with tahini and harissa among the cupboard staples.

Beyond the feed.

The work now includes The Veg Table newsletter and food collaborations with Wagamama and Novotel. In September 2026, Alfie announced Eat Your Veg, a first cookbook due in April 2027, collecting soups, dips, salads, weeknight meals and sharing dishes.
