Mini bio
How it started.
Beau grew up in a small town in Southern Alberta and first learned makeup through theatre. Fashion magazines and books became a way to keep learning, followed by practice on anyone willing to sit for a look. In a 2010 interview with theFashionSpot, Beau recalled that a model agent noticed their work while they were working in a department store.
A career-changing introduction.
Asked about a first big break by Daily Front Row, Beau pointed to working with Jay Manuel on Canada’s Next Top Model. Manuel recommended Beau to Iman. In a later Pagerie interview, Beau described Iman as the first celebrity they worked with consistently and remembered her support during the move to New York.
Behind the looks.
Beau’s agency lists Kristen Stewart, Nicole Richie, Riley Keough, Christina Hendricks and Anne Hathaway among their clients. Beau has described the experimental red carpet work with Stewart as a particular source of pride. Photography and product development also feed into the makeup: understanding light helps Beau shape how a look will read on camera.
Beyond the makeup chair.
With Shannon Heth, Beau coauthored the 2022 book Cinderella, You Bitch: Rescue Your Relationships from the Fairy-Tale Fantasy. Their work also includes photography for beauty collaborations and editorials. For Story + Rain’s So Beau series in December 2025, Beau both created and photographed five makeup looks on Michelle Randolph.
